年輕攝影師在某天深夜被緊急徵召去為一名猝死女孩拍遺照，不料透過鏡頭望去時，美麗的女孩卻張開雙眼對他微笑……面對隨時而來的死神召喚，高齡過百的葡萄牙國寶導演奧利維拉，以靜謐從容的處世態度，執導出一部在特效泛濫的年代難以復見的寫實主義古典風格之作，偶爾參雜仿夏卡爾筆觸的奇想，讓人看得出神入「畫」。
Isaac is a young photographer. One day he receives a call from a family asking him to take the last photograph of their daughter, Angelica, who died just a few days after her wedding. When he looks through the lens, Angelica appears to come back to life. Isaac instantly falls in love with her. From that moment on, Angelica will haunt him night and day, until exhaustion.
