影片前半部彷彿《戀戀風塵》與《藍宇》合體，恬淡譜寫著軍官與男孩的田園詩情。然而在一陣黑畫面打斷敘事後，影片突然變成老虎精下凡的鄉野傳奇，軍(獵)人進入森林尋找老虎(男孩)的魂魄。看似語焉不詳卻意在言外的變奏，為愛的主體、自然與規範的衝突，做出極具創意的詮釋。那棵虎精蟄伏在黑夜中閃爍光芒的大樹，會一直縈繞你的腦海。

Something magical is in the air. Times are happy and love is uncomplicated for young soldier Keng and country boy Tong. Then life is disrupted by a disappearance. Local legends say a human can somehow be transformed into another creature...Then begins a tale of a soldier who goes alone into the heart of the jungle, where myth is often real.
