在父親過世的七天內，阿梅回到台灣中部農村，重新面對鄉里人情的質樸率真與迷信愚昧，並飽嚐台灣傳統葬儀的庸俗繁瑣。在緊湊密集的宗教儀式裡，對父親的回憶與思念，只能在非常難得的瞬間出現。葬禮結束，她回到光鮮俐落的城市，卻偶然在香港機場吸煙室裡，對父親的思念排山倒海而來……。

The film tells the story of a woman returning to a farming village in central Taiwan within seven days of her father's death. Upon her return, she again has to face the villagers' rustic simplicity and ignorant superstition, while experiencing trite and minute complications that are the Taiwanese funeral ritual traditions.
