天下間最殘忍之事，莫過於父子相殘！查德內戰，一對父子弱肉強食，兒子奪走父親工作，老爸賭氣私下運作，將兒子送上前線作戰。兒子一走，女友就挺著大肚子來投靠。父親漸漸面對內在的煎熬與悔恨，決定親赴前線勇救兒子。導演在寫實的影像下，逐步帶出戰爭下荒謬的脆弱人性，也創紀錄成為首部在坎城入圍並獲獎的查德電影。
Present-day Chad. Adam is pool attendant at a smart N’Djamna hotel. The country is in the throes of a civil war. Rebel forces are attacking the government. The authorities demand that the population contributes to the “war effort”, giving money or volunteers old enough to fight off the assailants. The District Chief constantly harasses Adam for his contribution. But Adam is penniless; he only has his son...
